AbyM Consent Banner for Digital Anumati

Mô tả

AbyM Consent Banner for Digital Anumati connects your WordPress site to Digital Anumati’s consent banner service — a Consent Manager built for India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act 2023) and the DPDP Rules 2025.

Under the DPDP Act, businesses (“data fiduciaries”) that collect personal data from users (“data principals”) through their website need to show a proper notice under the DPDP Act, collect valid consent, and keep a consent artefact as a record. This plugin makes it simple to add a DPDP-compliant consent banner to any WordPress site without writing code: paste the header script provided by your Digital Anumati account, and the plugin handles the rest.

Whether you’re working through a DPDP Act compliance checklist for a startup, a small business website, or a larger significant data fiduciary, this plugin covers the website consent-collection step so you can focus on the rest of your DPDP compliance program.

Why use this plugin

  • Purpose-built for the DPDP Act — the consent banner and underlying Consent Manager are designed around DPDP Rules 2025 terminology and requirements, not adapted from another country’s law.
  • No-code setup — paste your Digital Anumati header script from Settings > Digital Anumati and you’re live.
  • Safe by default — pasted scripts are sanitized to allow only script and noscript markup.

What is a DPDP consent banner?

A DPDP consent banner is a website notice that asks visitors for clear, specific consent to process their personal data, as required under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act 2023) and DPDP Rules 2025.

Do Indian websites need a consent banner under the DPDP Act?

Any business or website (“data fiduciary”) that processes the personal data of individuals in India needs a valid consent mechanism under the DPDP Act. Requirements depend on your business and the data you collect — consult your compliance advisor for guidance specific to your organization.

What is a Consent Manager under the DPDP Act?

A Consent Manager is an entity registered to give data principals a single interface to give, manage, review, and withdraw consent. Digital Anumati operates as a Consent Manager service; this plugin connects your WordPress site to it.

Do I need a Digital Anumati account?

Yes. This plugin displays the consent banner script provided by your Digital Anumati account — it does not work standalone. Create an account at digitalanumati.com to get your scripts.

Is this plugin only for the DPDP Act?

Yes. This plugin is built specifically for India’s DPDP Act 2023 and DPDP Rules 2025, using the Digital Anumati Consent Manager. It doesn’t cover other countries’ privacy laws.

What is a consent notice under the DPDP Act?

The DPDP Act requires data fiduciaries to give data principals a clear notice — explaining what personal data is collected and why — before or at the time consent is requested. The banner delivered through your Digital Anumati account is built to present this notice alongside the consent request.

Can users withdraw consent after accepting the banner?

The DPDP Rules require that withdrawing consent be as easy as giving it. Consent withdrawal is handled through your Digital Anumati Consent Manager account, which this plugin connects your site to.

What happens if my site isn’t DPDP compliant?

Non-compliance with the DPDP Act can lead to penalties imposed by the Data Protection Board of India. This plugin helps with the website consent-banner piece of compliance; consult a compliance professional for a full assessment of your obligations, including any that apply to significant data fiduciaries.

Where do I configure the plugin?

After activating the plugin, go to Settings > Digital Anumati in your WordPress admin area.
